Position Overview:

The Environmental Risk Underwriter will play a crucial role in assessing and managing underwriting data to evaluate whether risks align with corporate underwriting criteria. This position involves calculating suitable premiums and establishing appropriate terms for acceptable risks while effectively communicating with brokers regarding risks that do not conform to underwriting standards.

- Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with brokers.

- Conduct travel to meet with brokers within the designated territory as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant underwriting experience, preferably in the Excess and Surplus lines sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively to complete tasks within established guidelines.
- Solid understanding of underwriting principles and techniques.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong negotiation capabilities and multitasking skills.
- High initiative and motivation, coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and internet research.
