Trade Finance Manager


Job Overview

  • We are looking for a Trade Finance Manager to join our Trade Finance and Corporate Finance Division and support our North American operations.
  • You will perform internal financial performance analysis and reporting, and strategic review work across a range of sectors.
  • You will also handle trade finance transactions and issues, ensuring corporate and regulatory compliance.
  • You will work with a team of professionals and report to the Finance Division Manager.
  • This is a full-time exempt position based in New York, NY. We offer a hybrid work schedule 2 days remote and an hour off for lunch daily from 12pm-1pm.
  • The salary range for this role is between $125-130k base with a 20% annual bonus. This role also offers Medical, Dental, Vision, 13 paid holidays + 21 days of PTO. Tuition reimbursement up to $10k annually. See full benefits guide.

Responsibilities

  • Financial analysis of group companies including new funding issuances or refinancing, budget forecasts, funding and work with department manager and other appropriate associates to complete other special project analysis as required.
  • Monitoring, compiling, and circulating internal reviews on the financial performance trends and peer benchmarking results of subsidiary, affiliate, and consolidated group positions as well as that of financial market conditions.
  • Formulating and refining of policies, controls procedures, and transaction processes as well as undertaking in-house audits to analyze deficiencies and improve the systems.
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with subsidiary companies and other corporate administrative divisions.
  • Act as liaison between ITOCHU (III/ITAI) Group Companies and Commercial Banks communicating regularly on all Trade Finance transactions and issues.
  • Analyze and provide guidance to Administrative, Subsidiary and Business Areas on all issues relating to Trade Finance including guidance on structuring transactions or suggesting alternative methods/instruments and meeting internal and external regulations.
  • Handling of various TF administrative duties - continually evaluate internal/external systems and processes and propose alternatives for more efficient operations.
  • Prepare month-end analytical and statistical reports.
  • Keep abreast of current and relevant developments on internal and external regulations and techniques.
  • Oversee all accounting processes as related to the various Trade Finance instruments.
  • Handle both III and ITAI LC, back-up ITAI/III Corporate Finance, and Cash Management in their daily operations when necessary.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record required.
  • Preference for a relevant background in accounting, economics, mathematics, or related field.
  • 2 years of professional experience in financial analysis, managerial accounting, or business planning, along with familiarity with the preparation of financial reports and understanding of the economy and capital markets. Exception may be made for a strong college graduate candidate with meaningful internship experience.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, ratio and variance analysis, discounted valuation, and statistical concepts along with a proficient working knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel) word processing (Word) and presentation (PowerPoint) software is essential for this position (the company utilize a Microsoft Office platform).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Candidate should have: a high level of ambition and motivation; the ability to work effectively both in a team and independently; strong analytical skills; ability to work under pressure and under time constraints; strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others; and good overall judgment.
