About the Role

Bank of China Limited, New York Branch is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented International Trade Finance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our trade finance operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of international trade transactions, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Examination and Verification: Conduct thorough examination and verification of trade documents, including Letters of Credit (L/C), to ensure accuracy and compliance with Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Trade Finance Operations: Manage and execute trade finance transactions, including L/C discounting, payment processing, and account reconciliation, in accordance with Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Conduct due diligence on daily transactions to ensure compliance with OFAC, KYC, BSA, Anti-Boycott, EAR, and other applicable US Government Regulations. Escalate any concerns to supervisor and Middle Desk.
  • Customer Due Diligence: Support KYC and customer due diligence in accordance with Bank's and department's policies and procedures. Conduct research and gather information to ensure completion of OFAC screening, customer due diligence, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and provide regular reports to management on trade finance operations, including transactional data, compliance metrics, and risk assessments.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as International Trade, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Certifications: Certified Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Internship experience in banking or trade finance is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of trade finance operations, regulations, and compliance. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
