Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst Consultant

Position Type: Full-Time, Consultant


Job Summary:

We are urgently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst Consultant with a strong background in cost management within the manufacturing sector. This role focuses on analyzing and managing shipping costs, with an emphasis on accounting principles and cost control over financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The ideal candidate will have experience working with international operations, including Mexico, China, and the US, and managing their own distribution channels. This role requires an immediate start to support Month End Close processes and other critical duties.

Key Responsibilities:


Cost Management and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive historical analysis of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), identifying areas where budget targets are missed.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand and address issues such as under-absorption of shipping costs.
  • Examine each line item in COGS to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations.

Month End Close:

  • Assist with the Month End Close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare necessary documentation for financial audits.

International Operations:

  • Manage and analyze costs related to international operations, including Mexico, China, and the US.
  • Optimize shipping and distribution costs across various regions, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Budgeting Process Improvement:

  • Develop and manage a master calendar for the budgeting process, ensuring a logical sequence and efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate with production and planning teams to accurately budget costs, considering production volumes and locations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost management within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and cost control.
  • Experience with international operations and managing shipping costs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to start immediately and work in a fast-paced environment.
