Position Summary:

The primary objective is to drive profitable sales growth by managing and expanding the private brand business for assigned accounts for my client. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow both revenue and profitability within the assigned product segments.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the sales function for assigned accounts.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales volume and profit targets.
  • Identify and analyze market opportunities and challenges; develop actionable plans to address them.
  • Successfully introduce new products and initiatives to customers.
  • Develop and execute effective promotional plans.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems promptly.
  • Leverage market research data to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Manage and guide broker teams to achieve sales objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, aligning with their business goals and strategies.
  • Provide accurate forecasts for both existing and new business.
  • Lead cross-functional customer teams effectively.
  • Recommend process improvements and manage upward communication effectively.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with colleagues and clients.
  • Manage trade funds (accrual management) and travel and expense budgets to meet financial targets.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Customer Development and marketing teams to create cohesive sales strategies.
  • Monitor and resolve customer service issues in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Oversee deduction processes to maintain a balanced ledger within targets.
  • Utilize customer P&L data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Manage Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSMs) for the territory.


Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing regional or national accounts at the headquarters or key contact level.
  • Advanced understanding of the grocery retail channel, including distributors and brokers.
  • Experience managing both branded and private label products.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong sales and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective time management, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Solid analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Proven success in driving new distribution opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation within both internal teams and customer settings.
  • Ability to manage travel and expenses within budget constraints, including overnight and occasional weekend travel for meetings, trade shows, and conventions.
