Life Science People has exclusively partnered with a client at the forefront of the transition from traditional agriculture to cellular agriculture. They have been operational for two years, specializing in the development of plant cell culture methods to produce cotton and other plant-based products more efficiently and with fewer resources than traditional agriculture.


This client successfully closed a $33 million Series B funding round.


Director of Business Development & Investor Relations

  • This individual will play a pivotal role in securing the resources necessary for research, development, and scaling, contributing to the achievement of key milestones and the delivery of scalable products within our ambitious timeline.
  • Guide our efforts in prospecting, acquiring, and engaging clients, investors, and external stakeholders with deep expertise in business, negotiation, executive presentation, and problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Strategy: Develop go-to-market plans based on market trends, client needs, and product feedback.
  • Sales & Investor Pipeline: Build and manage pipelines for both clients and investors, ensuring reliable conversions and preparing for fundraising rounds.
  • Presentations & Proposals: Create compelling presentations: business proposals, and financial feasibility analyses.
  • Investor & Board Updates: Provide regular updates to investors, prepare Board meetings, and manage communications with stakeholders.
  • Technology Communication: Stay updated on technology to effectively explain it to clients and investors.
  • Agreements Execution: Execute offtake and PoC agreements with various companies.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Execute marketing campaigns, manage social media, and represent the company at events.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead projects like impact assessments, due diligence, and change management.
  • Support Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks such as CRM updates, memos, and OKRs



Key Competencies

  • Education: MBA or equivalent in Business, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: 10+ years in corporate roles, with 5+ years in executive positions.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership abilities.
  • Proposals: Proficient in creating and presenting comprehensive business proposals.
  • Fundraising: Proven experience in fundraising and executing agreements.
  • Language: Proficient in English.
  • Leadership: Experienced in hiring, training, and managing teams.
  • Communication: Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Independence: Capable of working independently and driving projects.
  • Resilience: Adaptable to changing priorities and multitasking.
  • Work Ethic: Committed to delivering exceptional results.
