Position Overview: Our Client is seeking an accomplished Senior Business Development Director to spearhead their growth initiatives within the CGT sector. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, with a strong track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent relationship-building skills to drive revenue growth and enhance the company's market presence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets and expand the company’s footprint in the CGT sector.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct detailed market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics. Utilize this information to inform business strategies.
  • Client Engagement: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Partnership Management: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to enhance service offerings and broaden market reach.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by developing strategies to increase market share and client acquisition.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and R&D, to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.
  • Brand Promotion: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Advocate for the company’s capabilities and thought leadership in the CGT space.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for significant contracts, ensuring terms align with company objectives and deliver value.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on business development metrics, providing insights and recommendations to the senior management team.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in business development within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or CDMO industries, with a focus on cell and gene therapy.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Industry Insight: Deep knowledge of the CGT landscape, including regulatory requirements, market trends, and technological advancements.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and negotiation skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Network: Established network of contacts within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients, partners, and attend industry events.
