As the Associate Director of Business Development, Synthetic Biology, you will help to promote the awareness of an exciting new DNA synthesis technology to the life science community and lead and oversee activities to grow partnerships in the field of Synthetic Biology. You will work closely with the local and overseas commercial teams to maximize the value of key products and customer relationships.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Serve as one of the company’s primary interfaces to Synthetic Biology customers and collaborators in the North America region
  • Work closely with the Head of Synthetic Biology to support and refine the commercial strategy, sales tactics, and marketing strategy and materials
  • Maintain and nurture valuable relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and business partners
  • Coordinate with business development and marketing teams to design and execute voice of customers (VoC) initiatives to enhance market awareness and adoption of related technologies and products.
  • Perform business and competitive analysis and report to corporate leadership on a regular basis
  • Attend national and regional conferences, trade shows, online events, and corporate meetings as needed.


WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • San Jose office, but qualified candidates may be eligible for remote work
  • Up to 25% travel, including conference attendance
  • Some international travel may be required

WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience in the Synthetic Biology or Oligonucleotide industry
  • Proficiency in selling DNA and other reagent products or services is required
  • Strong understanding of the Synthetic Biology field and market is required

WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.

HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU

The base salary range for this position is $ 130-160K*
