Job Summary: The ideal candidate for the CFO position is accustomed to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They are exceptional communicators and problem solvers who exhibit strong leadership and strategic planning skills. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and high-level financial forecasting abilities while upholding company standards for financial integrity, compliance, and customer satisfaction.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and mentorship of the finance and accounting department.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to guide the company's strategic decisions.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
  • Create and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, reports, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to monitor job costs, margins, and financial projections.
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial institutions.
  • Promote a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity for business operations.
  • Ensure timely completion of all financial audits and reviews.
  • Support the company's growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and new business ventures.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Ensure the team's alignment with company goals and objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • At least ten years of experience in accounting/finance, with five years in a senior financial leadership role.
  • Extensive experience and track record of success within the homebuilding industry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems (MarkSystems experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, strategic decisions.
