Job Summary

The Financial Aid Officer will work in a professional team environment to provide superior customer service, educational financing information, and counseling to students, applicants, and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial aid processes and regulations, as well as excellent interpersonal and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and administrative expertise for financial aid office processes.
  • Assist in the review and final approval of financial aid awards and revisions.
  • Work with the FAO team to maintain, test, and utilize computer software and hardware in FAO.
  • Research and organize data for use in reports and routine projects for the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Design report formats and develop data queries and programs to respond to requests for information.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in student services.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial aid administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated technical skills including report creation, the use of databases, and software systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in financial aid systems and administration.
  • Knowledge of federal and institutional policy regarding and regulations governing financial aid compliance.
  • Fluency in a second language in wide use is strongly preferred.
