Summary

We are currently seeking a highly organized and hands-on individual to join our organization as an Operations Support Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing daily sanitation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining cleanliness, training employees, and prioritizing safety. This role is also responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance activities and insuring reliability of equipment is maintained at a high level. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as necessary.   


Maintenance Operations Management:

·      Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and maximizes equipment uptime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.

·      Maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance activities, and repair programs and procedures.

·      Inspect & monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery. 

·      Perform skilled maintenance activities including repairs, installations, pneumatics, and electrical. 

·      Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.

·      Prioritize activities to insure compliance to production plans . 

·      Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment. Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations. 

·      Identify failures and perform root cause analysis.

·      Collaborate with other departments in addressing continuous improvement initiatives.

·      Promote and encourage safety and food safety in all aspects of maintenance. 

 

 Sanitation Operations Management: 

·      Assist sanitation team in developing and implementing sanitation protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. 

·      Work closely with the Sanitation team to coordinate and supervise daily sanitation activities, including cleaning, foaming, scrubbing, rinsing, and sanitizing to ensure compliance with established procedures and schedules. 

·      Conduct inspections to assess sanitation conditions, identify areas for improvement, and take immediate corrective actions in compliance with Denali’s sanitation protocols, procedures, and guidelines. 

·      Provide guidance and training to sanitation team, ensuring adherence to established protocols and maintain a high level of performance. 


Quality Control and Continuous Improvement: 

·      Oversee quality control measures to ensure sanitation processes meet established standards and comply with regulatory requirements. 

·      Collaborate with team to address any sanitation-related issues that may impact product quality and safety. 

·      Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in sanitation operations, and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability. 


Leadership abilities to motivate and guide a team effectively

Education and/or Experience

·      Requires a minimum of two years prior experience in the food industry.

·      Proven leadership skills.

·      3-5 years progressively responsible experience. Within a food company is preferred.

·      Process Improvement experience.


Language Skills

  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English. Interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write/query reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization without assistance.

Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
