Job Overview:

A basic outline of the service coordinator role is as follows:

  • Understanding the components, nomenclature, and mechanics of cranes and the crane industry. (can be taught)
  • Learning and deciphering OSHA and industry standards to properly review and prioritize equipment inspection reports provided to customers
  • Accurately quoting all potential jobs by combining all variables such as parts, labor, and equipment based on information provided by technicians.
  • Coordinating technician schedule cohesively with other members of the service staff and ensuring all required components for a job are ready before scheduling
  • Working closely with team of technicians, office staff, and customers
  • Traveling to customer locations for sales meetings, check ups, information gathering, and training with technicians (steel toed boots and proper PPE required)
  • Using Microsoft office, E-Emphasys, E-signature software, InspectAll, and additional systems daily


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Taking calls/emails from customers for service.
  • Arranging with Parts Dept. and techs, to ensure correct parts/tools are available for anticipated repairs.
  • Deciding the best-suited tech for each repair.
  • Tracking repair if parts need to be ordered and rescheduling completion of repair upon receipt of parts.
  • Keeping customer notified of repair status.
  • Use of telephone, copier, printer/scanner, Excel, E-Emphasis, Fleet Tracker, email.
  • Other projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school graduate

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in Customer Service/Logistics required
  • Experience working in production environment a plus


Required Skills:

  • Computer knowledge, phone skills, communication skills
  • General knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, LPG and internal combustion systems.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks to optimize efficiency.
  • Must be able to track/maintain multiple projects through completion.
  • Must have strong organizational skills. Must use proper phone etiquette.


Travel Requirements:

5-10% to customer sites


Any potential candidates will not only need to be able to communicate efficiently through email and phone calls but in person with technicians and customers. The position is roughly 75% office work and 25% field/floor work. They will need to be ok with the possibility of being in a lift and at heights. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize customer needs.
