Position Overview:

The role of a Service Coordinator encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient service delivery:

  • Acquiring knowledge of crane components, terminology, and operational mechanics within the crane sector. (Training provided)
  • Interpreting OSHA regulations and industry standards to effectively assess and prioritize equipment inspection reports submitted by clients.
  • Providing accurate estimates for potential projects by evaluating all factors including parts, labor, and equipment based on technician input.
  • Synchronizing technician schedules with other service team members and confirming that all necessary components for a task are prepared prior to scheduling.
  • Collaborating closely with technicians, administrative staff, and clients.
  • Traveling to client sites for sales discussions, follow-ups, information collection, and technician training (appropriate safety gear required).
  • Utilizing software tools such as Microsoft Office, E-Emphasys, E-signature software, InspectAll, and other systems on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to customer inquiries via phone and email regarding service needs.
  • Coordinating with the Parts Department and technicians to ensure the availability of correct parts and tools for upcoming repairs.
  • Selecting the most suitable technician for each service task.
  • Monitoring repair progress, especially when parts need to be ordered, and rescheduling completion upon arrival of parts.
  • Keeping clients informed about the status of their repairs.
  • Utilizing office equipment such as telephones, copiers, printers/scanners, and software like Excel, E-Emphasis, and Fleet Tracker.
  • Engaging in additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Customer Service or Logistics is required.
  • Experience in a production environment is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills, effective phone communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of hydraulic, electrical, LPG, and internal combustion systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Capability to manage and track multiple projects to completion.
  • Strong organizational skills and adherence to proper phone etiquette.

Travel Requirements:

5-10% travel to client locations.

Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills through various channels, including in-person interactions with technicians and clients. The position involves approximately 75% office duties and 25% fieldwork. Comfort with heights and the use of lifts is necessary. Attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and the ability to prioritize client needs are crucial for success in this role.
