NextGen Federal Systems, LLC (NextGen) is seeking an Acquisition Governance and Oversight (AGO)/Acquisition Support Directorate (ASD) Lead to support Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Office of Acquisition (OA). The ideal candidate has demonstrated strong managerial experience organizing, planning, directing, and managing contractor staff, providing leadership, guidance, and vision. The AGO/ASD Lead and contractor staff will support the OA Component Acquisition Executive (CAE) and directorate subject matter experts with required AGO/ASD daily operations in areas of contracting, acquisition process knowledge management, and Government Accountability Office and Office of the Inspector General audits.


Location: Washington DC (Hybrid Work Schedule)


Responsibilities

  • Assists the Customer Service Support (CSS) Program Manager in providing AGO/ASD team leadership, guidance, and vision.
  • Assists the CSS Program Manager by recommending qualified and experienced personnel to the AGO/ASD contractor staff.
  • Provides supervision to personnel in each of the AGO/ASD task area sections.
  • Leads a team of talented contractors, providing guidance and leadership in support of daily operations.
  • Consults with senior OA leadership while leading a team of talented contractors in support of AGO/ASD day to day operations.
  • Provides support to OA contractor staff in managing the OA knowledge management system; acquisition workforce career management (for non-contracting acquisition force); education and training; process development and improvement.
  • Assists contractor staff in implementing information management processes that provides objective and timely information designed to add value and improve decision making.
  • Provides support to contractor staff in managing Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) audits, with document production.
  • Provides support to contractor staff managing, tracking, and reporting Freedom of Information Act requests relating to inspections and audits.
  • Establishes trust through long term candid engagement with stakeholders.
  • Communicates with executive level leadership to ensure needs are met and rapid adjustments are made when necessary.
  • Sets a positive, professional, and energetic tone in the workplace


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in management, business, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience organizing, planning, directing and managing contractor staff at a headquarters level
  • Proficient using MS Office Suite of applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current Top-Secret clearance or current DHS BI highly desired.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability determination after a CBP Background Investigation (BI).
