Position Overview: Purchasing Clerk
Our client, a leader in the Manufacturing & Construction industry, is looking for a meticulous and organized Purchasing Clerk to become an integral part of their team. In this role, you will assist in sourcing materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for the company's operations. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records, managing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods. This is a 3-month contract position, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the creation and processing of purchase orders and related documentation.
- Keep accurate and current records of all purchasing transactions.
- Communicate with suppliers to gather information on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Track inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain stock.
- Address and resolve discrepancies in orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Collaborate with different departments to understand and fulfill their product and service requirements.
- Prepare and manage purchasing reports and documentation.
- Help assess supplier performance and contribute to the identification of new sourcing options.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in a Purchasing Clerk role or similar position, with familiarity in handling purchase orders and invoices.
- A solid understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
