This role involves overseeing the IT infrastructure side of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A's) within Engineering and Design firms, from initiation to completion. You will play a crucial role in supporting and, at times, leading M&A projects, collaborating with both M&A and enterprise IT departments to ensure a seamless transition process.

Some key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assessing and understanding the IT landscape of the acquisition, encompassing various physical servers, networks, SANs, and other IT assets
  • Ensuring a smooth migration of legacy data, email, and systems to the enterprise IT infrastructure for long-term support
  • Providing direct user assistance during the transition phase, both onsite and remotely
  • Documenting and executing plans for migrating legacy IT infrastructure to modern cloud-based solutions
  • Configuring and installing new IT equipment on-site to maintain consistent IT standards organization-wide
  • Managing IT server rooms, including cable organization, UPS monitoring, and temperature control
  • Developing decommissioning plans for legacy IT equipment
  • Acting as a team lead for junior support staff
  • Providing 2nd/3rd level support for technical issues pertaining to engineering-specific software
  • Handling office moves and consolidations
  • Responsive to user help requests via various channels

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction within the organization
  • Ability to navigate complex processes efficiently
  • Readiness to seek assistance promptly when needed
  • Strong technical writing and troubleshooting abilities
  • Independence in work with the support of a team
  • Interpersonal skills focused on relationship building and effective communication
  • Willingness to address after-hours requests occasionally

Requirements for education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in IT infrastructure cutovers/buildouts
  • Preferably, experience with Mergers and Acquisitions in an IT capacity
