Company: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)
Responsibilities:
- Acts as lead liaison for customer departments in managing discipline and employee complaints/grievances.
- Represents DART with the Texas Workforce Commission on workers' compensation claims.
- Researches complex labor and employee relations issues to ensure consistency.
- Serves as a contact for day-to-day labor issues and collaborates with legal counsel on employment matters.
- Assists in policy changes and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Keeps abreast of Labor Relations policies and practices.
- Communicates and coordinates with employees at all levels.
- Provides analytical research on labor issues and makes recommendations.
- Participates in project teams and conducts statistical research.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Performs other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources.
- Three years of experience in advising on policy application, disciplinary actions, or labor relations.
- Knowledge of labor relations principles, practices, and laws.
- PHR certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in PC and software applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with fiduciary obligation.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Manager, Employee Labor Relations.
Working Conditions: Works in an environment with minimum exposure to various elements.
