Description:

Job Title: Employee Labor Relations Specialist
Company: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as lead liaison for customer departments in managing discipline and employee complaints/grievances.
  • Represents DART with the Texas Workforce Commission on workers' compensation claims.
  • Researches complex labor and employee relations issues to ensure consistency.
  • Serves as a contact for day-to-day labor issues and collaborates with legal counsel on employment matters.
  • Assists in policy changes and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Keeps abreast of Labor Relations policies and practices.
  • Communicates and coordinates with employees at all levels.
  • Provides analytical research on labor issues and makes recommendations.
  • Participates in project teams and conducts statistical research.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources.
  • Three years of experience in advising on policy application, disciplinary actions, or labor relations.
  • Knowledge of labor relations principles, practices, and laws.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC and software applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with fiduciary obligation.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Manager, Employee Labor Relations.

Working Conditions: Works in an environment with minimum exposure to various elements.
