This job involves directing and coordinating the medical program at a primary care clinic, requiring a high level of expertise. The Medical Director must adhere to the terms of contracts and grants providing funding and overseeing various projects.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a medical school approved by the relevant medical associations or a Diplomate of national medical boards.

Required Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain:

  • State of New Mexico medical license with hospital admitting privileges.
  • DEA license, CSR, Medicare, and Medicaid numbers.
  • BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strongly preferred board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

OR

  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.

Required Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain:

  • New Mexico Board of Nursing license as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • DEA license, CSR, Medicare, Medicaid, BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.

OR

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program.
Required Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain:

  • New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners license as a Physician Assistant.
  • Collaborative Physician Assistant Licensure.
  • DEA license, CSR, Medicare, Medicaid, BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Screening Requirements:

  • Compliance with mandatory testing and immunization protocols. Criminal Records Check for Checkerboard Area Health System.

Physical Demands:

  • May require travel for conferences and meetings. Ability to perform daily duties like standing, bending, and operating office equipment. Lifting up to 30 pounds and good vision and hearing abilities are necessary.
