The AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate seeks to hire a motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to serve as a Logistician in the RXOE Engineering Services and Operations Support Branch of the RXO Division. This position will be filled at the DO-II (GS-12/13 equivalent) and is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio. This is a full-time, permanent position.

This position may be filled as a 5-year Modified Term Appointment (current government term employees, etc.) with the option to later convert to a permanent appointment.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs a variety of duties requiring knowledge and skill in applying logistics management principles, methods and techniques to meet logistics requirements.
  • Represents AFRL/RX officials at AFRL Wright Site and AFRL/HQ conferences to advise on current and future status of logistics/emergency preparedness policies, plans and programs in support of AF scientific research and development.
  • Represents AFRL/RX at process improvement events directed at any aspect of logistics/emergency preparedness.
  • Works with other divisions and outside agencies to integrate and coordinate technical projects and prepare final products, which include briefings, data calls, point papers, etc.
  • As an Engineering Services Logistician Team member, works with Wright Site, AFRL, AFMC, other DoD, and outside organizations.
  • Serves as subject-matter expert to ensure compliance with various policies and codes.
  • Provides guidance & recommendations to management to solve findings from audits & site visits from OSHA, AFAA, AFMC, AFRL & others.
  • Leads development and maintenance of the Directorate's Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Emergency Management (EM) plans
  • Creates, develops & coordinates data & information packets requested from higher HQs or other agencies.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to Directorate mgmt to complete findings from audits, site visits, and self-inspections.
  • Develops and institutes policies and procedures to prevent repeated findings.
