Accountant I Position at AR Teacher Retirement System

Location: Little Rock, AR

  • Responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing reports related to the financial activities of an organization.
  • Establishes contract and grant accounts, reconciles accounts, processes journal entries, monitors grant and contract activities, and budgets.
  • Prepares spreadsheets and database files, analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.
  • Assists in the development of new accounting systems and procedures, provides technical assistance regarding policies, procedures, and budget laws.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, manual and automated accounting systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and policies to accounting transactions.
  • Experience in retirement benefits administration and managing high transaction volumes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PDFs.
  • Ability to problem solve, handle competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in AASIS.
