Accountant I Position at AR Teacher Retirement System
Location: Little Rock, AR
- Responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing reports related to the financial activities of an organization.
- Establishes contract and grant accounts, reconciles accounts, processes journal entries, monitors grant and contract activities, and budgets.
- Prepares spreadsheets and database files, analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.
- Assists in the development of new accounting systems and procedures, provides technical assistance regarding policies, procedures, and budget laws.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Knowledge of GAAP, manual and automated accounting systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and policies to accounting transactions.
- Experience in retirement benefits administration and managing high transaction volumes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PDFs.
- Ability to problem solve, handle competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in AASIS.
