Job Description:
  • The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) plays a vital role in developing, managing, and interacting with Key Opinion Leaders within the assigned region under the guidance of the Thought Leader Liaison Lead in the Specialty Brands Marketing division.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with commercial colleagues to promote advocacy for Mallinckrodt's products among KOLs, managing speakers, and gathering insights from KOLs.
  • This field-based role requires independent and effective work with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
  • Strategic KOL Development and Management:
    • Identify, nurture, and maintain relationships with regional Key Opinion Leaders in specific specialties.
    • Support deep engagement of KOLs and manage relationships with national associations and large treatment facilities.
    • Coordinate interactions between Mallinckrodt team and KOLs during key initiatives and events.
  • Congress / Key Event Management:
    • Manage brand activities at regional and national conferences relevant to Rheumatology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology.
    • Oversee regional sponsorships, organize executive meetings with KOLs, and ensure timely completion of conference requirements.
  • Cross Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with multiple teams including medical, training, marketing, and sales to develop external engagement strategies.
    • Work closely with the sales team to align conference KOL engagement plans.
    • Provide market insights to the marketing team and contribute to strategy development.
    • Support the Marketing team in board strategy development, advisory recommendations, and speaker training.
    • Summarize insights from key congresses for the marketing team.

Additional Information:

  • Business travel required (50% - 65%)
  • Availability to work evenings and select weekends.
  • Proximity to a hub airport is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries in customer-facing roles.
  • 5+ years of thought leader engagement experience in medical affairs, marketing, sales, or clinical roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Pulmonology.
  • Ability to develop and implement HCP key strategies.
  • Proven track record in KOL mapping and advocacy.
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to maintain lasting relationships with KOLs.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
  • Capacity to make informed decisions and uphold ethical standards.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of pharmaceutical promotional activities.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive field travel is necessary.

Location: Northeastern US
Salary negotiable based on experience.
