Job Description:
As a Sr.

Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer at L3Harris Technologies, you will be involved in the securing of communication capabilities for the warfighter.

We are looking for people with experience with defensive cybersecurity design and requirements verification as well as an understanding of cryptography design, development, and certification via FIPS 140 and/or NSA certification processes.

Our team includes both experienced and developing engineers in the field of cybersecurity. We hope to find candidates who are ready to work on a deeply technical, high energy team.

Essential Functions:
Eagerness to learn by reviewing documentation, asking questions, and otherwise digging into challenges.
Able to configure systems to meet security objectives.
Configure to meet and verify that systems met Security Technical Implementation Guides provided by the DoD.
Ability to verify through testing, demonstration, or analysis whether a system meets security objectives.
Ability to work with other functional engineering disciplines (e.g., Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams).

Ability to clearly articulate and write documentation which outline engineering concepts in a manner that can be understood by customers and other stakeholders.

Interface with internal and external customer to discuss design, implementation, and process.
Travel up to 25% of the time as needed in support of installations, customer facing meetings, etc.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:


Minimum of 2 years on-the-job experience related to cybersecurity design, implementation and/or certification or equivalent educational experience in the form of a cybersecurity-based Masters program.

Possesses one of the following certifications at time of hire, or obtain one within 6 months of hire: Associate of CISSP, CISSP, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP (DoD 8140/8570 qualified certifications).

Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience with engineering requirements which allow for exportability of ITAR/EAR products.
Experience having led security efforts on a program.
A Secret level clearance is required.

Hands-on experience in configuring and using operating systems such as Windows, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or other Linux distributions.

Understanding of cybersecurity best practices equivalent to having earned a Security+ certification.
Basic understanding of cryptography and how it can be implemented to meet security objectives.
Basic understanding of networking principles such as the OSI layers, TCP, UDP, ACLs, and how to secure a network.
