The Quality Control Associate is primarily responsible for documentation and inspection of products such as trusses and other production materials through the use of SBCA inspection software.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately place pre-cut wood component members onto jig in accordance with wall panel design.
  • Check quality on roof and floor trusses and wall panels per Truss Plate Industry (TPI), organizational and customer quality control standards.
  • Report results of quality control checks to necessary management.
  • Assist in reading engineering layout and cut sheets to verify material, lengths, grade and size.
  • Report all maintenance problems to relevant leadership or staff.
  • Report any individual truss quality control issues to the lead man and Production Managers.
  • Other duties and assigned.
  • Join wood component members together utilizing staple gun.
  • Accurately measure dimension of wall panel to ensure accuracy and quality of build in accordance with design.
  • Place metal connector plate components at joints for permanent application in accordance with design.
  • Ensure all walls are built according to safety and quality standards.
  • Send finished product to packaging/shipping section of the production line.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, twist and squat frequently.
  • Ability to use hammer and nail guns
  • Ability to climb and descend from elevated tables
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Work well with others in a fast-pace and loud environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16 of an inch mandatory.Must pass a tape measure test prior to job offer.
  • Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs or more, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Operate on a team in a high-volume environment.
  • Supply basic hand tools: measuring tape (25 ft. or more), hammer (20 oz. or larger).
