Position Overview

The Automation Specialist will predominantly engage with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) while providing support to clients in their operational processes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively perform the following key responsibilities:
  • Exhibit foundational knowledge in process control, including the ability to recognize process parameters and comprehend process variables and associated risks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and understanding instrumentation/control equipment within an industrial setting.
  • Show a basic understanding of control methodologies, both analog and discrete, and the essential components necessary for developing robust control algorithms.
  • Implement control strategies within DCS, PLC, or Human-Machine Interface (HMI) platforms, possessing a fundamental grasp of programming languages.
  • Understand control system architecture, encompassing hardware, software, instrumentation, and networking components.
  • Have a basic comprehension of advanced analog control techniques.
  • Display experience in an industrial environment, including loop checking, startup procedures, troubleshooting, and commissioning assistance.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with control panels through the ability to read schematics and comprehend panel operations.
