Role Summary

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily functions of the quality department, aimed at improving customer satisfaction, reducing risks, and supporting the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise QA Technicians and Leads, providing leadership, training, and support
  • Design, implement, and uphold quality procedures and protocols
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations, including GMP and SQF
  • Create training programs for production staff
  • Lead the ERP program for all QA requirements, including hold and release processes
  • Oversee root cause investigations for food safety and quality issues
  • Assist in resolving and documenting customer complaints
  • Monitor and maintain environmental programs, corrective actions, and food safety logs
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and coordinate with third-party sanitation
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure the implementation of new or modified processes
  • Assess facility compliance with food safety regulations
  • Prepare for and participate in audits, gathering and presenting necessary information
QualificationsEducation & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in the quality or food processing sector
  • Familiarity with SSOP, GMP, HACCP, and SQF
  • Experience with USDA regulations is advantageous
  • Knowledge of sanitation and environmental monitoring practices
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull for extended periods
  • Regular lifting of up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to varying temperatures
  • Work with raw, cooked, and frozen products
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer
  • Some travel may be required, including visits between facilities and potential out-of-town trips
