Pawtucket Falls Healthcare Center has been dedicated to providing outstanding care to the community for over five decades. As a privately owned and operated facility, we deliver both short and long-term skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy.

Position Summary:

The main goal of this role is to oversee the business office activities, accounting functions, and manage assigned information for the facility following all current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, under the guidance of the Administrator, Owner, and/or Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities of the Business Office Manager:

  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the business office functions of the facility.
  • Explain the facility's accounting policies and procedures to employees, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies as needed.
  • Support department directors in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures by monitoring internal controls.
  • Act as a representative of the facility and attend necessary meetings.
  • Assist patients and families with information on available financial assistance programs.
  • Act as a link between the Administrator, medical staff, and other professional supervisory personnel.
  • Help standardize work methods within the facility.
  • Maintain financial record-keeping systems including ledgers, payments, receipts, among others.
  • Establish and manage accounts payable systems such as invoicing, purchase orders, check registers, etc.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, invoice coding, account analysis, reconciliation, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute statements, and oversee accounts receivable collections.
  • Help organize and maintain a comprehensive filing system.
  • Assist with computer data entries as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; College Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of (2) years of Business Office Manager experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Experience with billing and collections necessary.
  • Proficiency in applying for Medicaid for Long Term Care.
