Position Overview:
- Responsible for providing financial counseling, collecting co-pays and deductibles and/or offering financial assistance education to patients and their families.
- Handles registration tasks, scheduling appointments, and entering necessary information into the system while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Requires strong customer focus, patience, composure, and interpersonal skills to maintain excellent customer service standards at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and enter financial and demographic data into the system
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary consents
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide financial assessment and evaluate each patient's situation
- Work efficiently while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy rights
Requirements:
- High School completion / GED required
- Associate's Degree in healthcare or related business field preferred
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology preferred
Skills:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes quickly
- Excellent verbal and listening communication skills
- Professional demeanor in stressful situations
- Strong mathematical aptitude for financial calculations
- Experience with business office machinery
- Build productive relationships with various contacts
