Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all laws, HR requirements, policies, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
  • Provide guidance to business units on HR initiatives supporting business objectives
  • Collaborate with the business to enhance culture, leadership development, and succession planning
  • Assist in developing and enhancing HR systems and policies
  • Offer support and coaching to supervisors and managers on HR-related issues
  • Participate in HR processes to meet business objectives
  • Support other HR team needs as necessary
  • Administer job bidding process and provide HR administrative support
  • Maintain confidentiality

Activities:

  • Partner with the business to make personnel decisions aligned with management expectations
  • Provide support to Labor Relations, Employee Relations, and Managers
  • Advise on grievance and labor relations strategy
  • Offer labor and HR support to assigned areas
  • Conduct training on labor relation matters
  • Oversee summer hire process and employee evaluations
  • Facilitate grievance meetings and recommend resolutions
  • Lead investigations and recommend actions
  • Participate in recruiting efforts and interviews
  • Manage and recognize employee performance matters
  • Support negotiations team during contract negotiations
  • Coordinate facility transportation and make arrangements for company events
  • Support staffing and headcount planning
  • Lead improvement projects and provide leadership development training
  • Support ISO 9000 efforts

Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field with 2-4 years of experience, OR
  • High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience in Labor and/or Employee Relations
  • Knowledge of mediation or conflict management

A mix of education and experience will be considered for this role. Final pay grade determination will be based on various factors including skills, education, experience, performance, leadership, and influence.
