SUMMARY

The Human Resources position is responsible for creating strategic advantage by ensuring a unique employment experience for Immel team members.  This role will ensure that Immel provides an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes individual and team empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development and retention of a superior workforce.  Human Resources will meet with the leadership team to shape the future of the employee experience to ensure its alignment with all organizational strategies. Together, they will build a strategy of proactive, transparent communication to ensure a sustainable culture. 

 

On a tactical level, this person leads and is responsible for the daily Human Resources functions, which includes overseeing talent management and recruiting, performance management, process development/improvement, training and development, organizational effectiveness, compensation and benefits, and the overall administration and continuous improvement of Human Resources and Organizational Development policies, procedures, and programs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops a performance-based culture focused on setting measurable objectives, developing staff, and accountability.
  • Develops a human capital strategy to attract, engage, develop, and retain the talent necessary to meet current and future strategic goals. Leads recruitment of new and open positions including interviewing, selection, and preparation of offers.
  • Drives leadership team accountability for the application and execution of performance management process and tools, and on-going coaching.
  • Administers employee benefit programs including providing information to employees, changes in coverage, enrollment, claim resolution, and reconciles employee contributions and premium payments. Researches and recommends changes in benefits that are of value to the employee and are cost effective to the company.
  • Prepares regular analysis of employee compensation. Work closely with accounting in determining the budgetary implications of compensation practices and employee benefit plans.
  • Coordinates employee on-boarding process, including instruction of company policies, job training, background checks, and placing of newly hired employees.
  • Conducts employee post hire interviews and assists in the evolution of responsibilities.
  • Participates in the transition of exiting employees, including termination, voluntary separations, and exit interviews.
  • Prepares, develops, and periodically updates the Employee Handbook containing company policies. Trains staff on policies and assists management in the interpretation of the policy.
  • Represents the company in unemployment insurance matters. Oversees claims and completes required forms.
  • Maintains employee records including hiring offers, personal data, employee certifications and training, paid time off, wage history, tax and benefit information, performance issues.
  • Ensures labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and local, state and federal government requirements are adhered to as it relates to payroll and benefits.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.


Experience/Knowledge

  • Minimum 10 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience managing and leading teams; demonstrated experience inspiring an inclusive, high-performance culture.

  • Work will be performed from the office. Occasional travel to the construction sites may be required.
