Function:
Leveraging ITW 80/20 business strategies and toolbox procedures, this role reports to the Plant Manager.

The position involves supervising employees, overseeing product assembly processes, implementing maintenance procedures, and leading the shipping and receiving department effectively.

Job DescriptionFollow and execute ITW Enterprise Strategy, ITW Toolkit, Core Values, and Code of Conduct as a leader of the business.

Supervise daily production activities of a specific group of hourly workers, recommending discipline and recognition as necessary.
  • Review work performance, absenteeism, and safe work habits of supervised personnel
  • Interpret, clarify and enforce rules, regulations, and policies
  • Handle employee complaints and assist in human resources activities
  • Maintain morale, apply discipline fairly, and promote positive personnel relations
  • Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping programs
  • Review equipment and production procedures, make improvement recommendations
  • Instruct and advise employees on tasks and methods
  • Order supplies and ensure employees have necessary tools
  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance
  • Maintain department records and handle new employee orientation

Monitor and coordinate shipping/receiving activities as well as maintenance tasks.

Responsible for performance appraisals and skill placement to meet facility needs.QualificationsHold a High School Diploma with at least five (5) years of experience in diverse manufacturing operations, including industries like food & beverage, textiles, automotive, electronics, etc.

Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing supervision, plant floor operations, and personnel management, with a preference for candidates with over 3 years of experience in these areas. Union experience is preferred but not required.

DESIRED:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline with at least four (4) years' experience in industries like metal fabrication, foundry, tool & die, industrial trades, etc.

CompetenciesInclude demonstrated leadership skills, effective communication, proactive problem-solving, OSHA knowledge, quality assurance expertise, resource utilization, understanding of manufacturing operations, and adaptability to changes.

  • Ability to stand or walk for a duration of 10 hours
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, lift, reach, and twist to complete tasks
  • Compliance with all required PPE

Working ConditionsComprise industrial plant floor, union environment, and office settings.
