Job Description

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships will work collaboratively on a wide variety of partnership-related initiatives aimed at cultivating and maintaining financial and strategic relationships with regional and national brands and stakeholders that invest in Events DC's mission and its business objectives. The incumbent will manage and execute key partner support activities related to account management and reporting, be adept at creating impactful presentation materials and summaries, and will maximize partnership prospecting and sales efforts to cultivate new, and expand current, relationships with partner organizations and advocacy groups. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships in the Sports and Entertainment Division.

Responsibilities

Partner Fulfillment and Activation
  • Manage day-to-day relationships and consistently engage via phone, e-mail, and in-person meetings to ensure contract fulfillment for growing portfolio of corporate partners
  • In collaboration with Events DC marketing team, act as a consultant to primary partner contacts to develop and deliver impactful and measurable campaigns based on individual partner ROI objectives
  • Coordinate the execution of sponsorship agreements and event partnership programming, and closely monitor progression of the contracting cycle from draft agreement to renewal phase
  • Collaborate with internal departments and/or external vendors to ensure smooth execution of a broad range of year-round and event-specific contracted partner assets and activations platforms
  • Maintain detailed tracking and reporting documents of partnership and inventory management efforts
  • Aggregate data from a variety of sources and create high-quality executive summaries and event recap reports that incorporate multimedia, graphical features, and impactful ROI metrics
Partnership Sales Support
  • In partnership with internal team and external agency, assist in driving revenue growth through the sale of fully integrated marketing partnerships to achieve short- and long-term departmental goals
  • Collaborate with SED creative teams to produce and customize pitch presentations and maintain a library of high-impact sales and master reporting materials in PowerPoint and Digideck platforms
  • Support the identification and analysis of sponsorship asset inventory at Events DC campuses (Walter E. Washington Convention Center, RFK Campus and the St. Elizabeth's Campus), as well as owned and managed events
  • Create follow-up materials and research requests for potential and current partners and stakeholders
Events DC Sponsored Events
  • Collaborate across Events DC divisions in relation to events the organization supports and sponsors
  • Support individual event and property negotiations and asset identification to ensure alignment with Events DC's overall objectives and maximize a strategic return on all investments
  • Track inventory, invitations and RSVP lists for hosting opportunities and ensure that the Corporate Partnerships department leverages event hospitality assets to maintain and build partner relationships
  • Manage day-to-day relationships for selected Events DC sponsored event, ensuring efficient execution of assets, liaising with internal stakeholders, providing creative and managing activation elements
  • Manage and track required internal memo, approval, contracting, and payment processes
  • Collate data and report to leadership on overall results and ROI/ROO for all financial commitments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business Management, Marketing, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a partnership activation, client-facing agency, business development, sponsorship sales, or corporate fundraising role(s)
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Power Point)
