About the Role

The Middle East Institute is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse range of corporate members and philanthropic foundations to support our policy, arts, and education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Partnership Development: Work closely with scholars and senior management to understand our financial needs and identify potential funding opportunities.
  2. Corporate Membership Management: Steward current corporate members and work with senior management to renew annual memberships, while identifying and onboarding new corporate members from diverse sectors.
  3. Foundation Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with charitable foundations interested in funding our projects, and draft, review, and submit budgets and grant proposals to secure funding.
  4. Development Operations: Collaborate with the development team to refine internal systems, expand our fundraising operation, and successfully complete other development projects as needed.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of two years experience in development and/or external relations.
  2. Proven experience with non-profit fundraising and corporate membership schemes.
  3. Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Experience in project management or implementation, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet multiple competing deadlines.
  5. Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in crafting a case for support of policy and education-related projects.
  2. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
  3. Knowledge and familiarity of the Middle East, and an ability to engage in meaningful policy- and culture-oriented discussions on the region.
