Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Support Engineer (PSE) to join our West Hartford, CT team. The PSE will work in a project team environment primarily providing engineering support for vapor cycle cooling systems but may also support fuel pumps/controls and air turbine product lines.

Responsibilities


•Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal disciplines as primary interface for resolving technical issues related to in-service equipment.

•Provide on-site support at suppliers, OEM customers, and airlines.

•Troubleshoot customer-returned equipment and conduct root cause investigations using scientific methods.

•Lead implementation of corrective actions or performance upgrades for in-service equipment through concept, design, and qualification, and deployment.

•Maintain field reliability data for vapor cycle system product line.

•Develop content for maintenance manuals, training material, and service bulletins.

•Provide OEM and FAA repair station support for fabrication, assembly, and test issues.

•Generate manpower estimates, schedules, and milestones for support engineering activities.

•Analyze and disposition non-conforming material as part of material review process.

•Develop test instructions for verification of product performance requirements.

•Leverage 'lessons learned' into new program design & development activities.

•Participate in continuous improvement (CI) and lean manufacturing initiatives/events.

Qualifications


•A minimum of BSME, or equivalent technical degree is required.

•2 to 5 years of work experience in a design, manufacturing, test, or product support role for complex mechanical equipment; aerospace, vapor cycle systems, or fluid handling applications is a plus. Recent college graduates may be considered provided they have some mechanical design experience including technical and test experience in vapor cycle systems, turbomachinery, or fluid handling equipment.

•Strong hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation skills, particularly with vapor cycle system components and/or fluid handling equipment.

•Excellent communication skills with a strong aptitude for technical writing.

•Previous experience with aerospace design & test standards is a plus.

•Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing and drawing conventions

•Experience with electronics and electro-mechanical devices is a plus.

•Able and willing to work daily from the West Hartford office, although working remotely on occasion is possible.

•Experience with problem solving and troubleshooting using scientific methods (fault tree, fishbone analysis, etc.).

•Able and willing to travel (domestic and international) occasionally to meet with customers and suppliers.

•Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
