The RD Product Development, New Markets Engineering group at Haartz seeks a passionate and highly motivated engineer to join our growing team New ideas, new technologies, and new ways of thinking are driving our future

This is what you will be doing:

As an R&D Product Development-New Markets Engineer, your overall responsibility is researching and developing new materials and technology that will lead to new product development. The person should generate new concepts and develop products for commercialization.

Applicant must be available to work flexible schedules and willing to travel.

Some Job Responsibilities
  • Core Material Research: Seek out, investigate, and evaluate new raw materials for developing new products. Research fiber, yarn, fabrics, polymer compounds, elastomers (Rubbers, TPE's), textile finish and coatings (Water repels, adhesives etc.) that will meet OEM specifications and customer performance requirements.
  • Core Process Research: Novel coating and curing technologies for product development, process efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Ability to scale up formulations from lab scale to pilot, to full production quantities.
  • Responsible for researching and developing new polymer compounds, textiles, foam substrates and composites.
  • Develop new products to meet customer needs, from the lab prototype stage through production stages. (Assist in the running of trials on production equipment).
  • Run development samples to optimize process and product performance during the development stage of a new product.
  • Provide technical assistance at customer location during validation trials. Provide written reports of such trials.
This is what you should bring:

Minimum degree Bachelor's (B.S.) or Master's (M.S.) in Chemistry, Materials, Textiles, Chemical or Plastics engineering with 0-3 years of relevant experience and demonstrated accomplishments.
