R&D Supervisor and Safety Lead

Hoya Vision Care is seeking a highly skilled R&D Supervisor and Safety Lead to join our team in Ramsey, MN.
About the Role:We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead our R&D team in driving strategic and technical improvements while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and global standards. As R&D Supervisor and Safety Lead, you will be responsible for supervising and managing a team of R&D technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations. You will also lead safety efforts for the introduction of new chemicals and processes for R&D experimentation, develop and maintain safety protocols, and ensure their adherence within the R&D team.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive strategic and technical improvements in R&D
- Supervise and manage R&D technicians
- Lead safety efforts for new chemicals and processes
- Develop and maintain safety protocols
- Ensure R&D compliance with EHS regulatory programs
- Stay knowledgeable of REACH and other global regulations
- Partner with leadership to implement EHS initiatives
- Develop and maintain effective EHS programs
- Participate in driving continuous improvement
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field (M.S. preferred)
- Experience in EHS program development and implementation
- Extensive knowledge of chemicals and their hazards
- Leadership experience and ability to motivate and coach personnel
- Valid driver's license and good driving history
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulatory standards
- Environmental management experience
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
