About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Solutions Designer to join our dynamic R&D Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will have the freedom and flexibility to contribute to the development of innovative electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products, including 3D models, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define product for manufacture and ensure specifications are met.
  • Research specifications and identify purchased components for use in designs.
  • Manage both small and large-scale projects independently, with minimal supervision from engineers and supervisors.
  • Direct and assist with the build of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds.
  • Assist in the development of engineering, drafting, and release standards.
  • Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentation.
  • Participate in the product development process, including design brainstorming and voice of customer activity.
  • Initiate/prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including the development of BOMs.
  • Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications are accurate as represented.
Requirements
  • Two-year technical degree preferably in drafting or design.
  • Ideally 3+ years of mechanical experience in drafting/design.
  • Experience using SolidWorks is a must.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration for designing, assisting, and directing the build of components and assemblies.
  • Experience with ENOVIA PLM system is a bonus.
  • JD Edwards experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of brazing/welding of copper, stainless steel is a plus.
  • Knowledge of tubing and manifold designs for fluids is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of plastic part design is beneficial.
