Based in Orange County, the Recruiting Manager plays a critical role for the office and for the firm in supporting attorney talent acquisition.

The focus of this position will be on-campus recruiting at law schools, the Summer Program, judicial clerk, and lateral attorney recruiting.

The person in this role will coordinate the Orange County office's legal recruitment efforts and offer office event and professional development support.

This role reports to the firmwide Chief Recruiting Officer and works closely with the Orange County Hiring Partner, Partner(s)-in-Charge, Diversity Committee and Hiring Committee, as well as the Orange County Director of Administration, and attorneys on the various other committees.


Responsibilities include:
Plan and manage the office's overall recruitment efforts, including summer, new, and lateral associate recruiting.
Play an integral role in the Orange County office's recruitment leadership and team.

Oversee and drive summer program planning (including budget, calendar of events) and collaborate with summer coordinators and hiring partner on execution, attending events.

Review and selecting summer, new, and lateral candidates' applications for consideration by Hiring Committee.

Arrange and coordinate the on-campus interview logistics for the office's assigned schools and firmwide interview teams, including any hospitality suites, receptions, dinners, or on-campus recruiting-related events.

Direct all aspects of candidate visits and screening and callback interviews.

Coordinate offer process and organize outreach and follow-up dinners and other events for lateral recruits and candidates from the office's assigned schools.

Plan and facilitate annual academic events and activities, including diversity-focused events and events planned in conjunction with student groups, for the office's assigned schools.

Work with legal search firms and agencies on lateral associate hiring.
Prepare and track annual departmental budget and maintain proper recruiting records.
Provide support for Associates Committee, Diversity Committee, Womens' Committee, and Professional Development events.
Provide support for local office events, including client development or alumni events.
Attend the annual national Hiring Committee Spring Meeting and regional group meetings.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have initiative.
The candidate should exhibit independent thinking and creativity.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to handle high volume.
Must be a team player and also exhibit good judgment.

Experience:
A four-year college degree is required.
Minimum of five years of recruiting experience preferred
Experience in a law firm is highly preferred, as is experience with events.
Experience with an applicant tracking or human resources software is a plus.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Gibson Dunn will consider for employment qualified Applicants with Criminal Histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of local law.


Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $95-125k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
