The Bureau of Building and Street Repair (BSR)

provides professional construction, repair, and maintenance to City-owned facilities. The team ensures emergency services are available 24/7 to support public safety operations and oversees paving, street repair, and sewer maintenance.

Public Works is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager within the Bureau of Building and Street Repair.

Job Description

Under general direction, as a Maintenance Manager, you will plan, schedule, and supervise staff engaged in maintenance, construction, and repair activities for large buildings and grounds. You will also be involved in developing policies, procedures, and budget plans.

Important and Essential Duties:
  • Assisting in maintenance and repair objective preparation.
  • Ensuring adherence to approved policies and practices.
  • Collaborating with supervisors on technical issues.
  • Reviewing project status reports, work projections, and material use.
  • Developing and revising maintenance programs and budgets.
  • Supervising emergency maintenance dispatch and preparing estimates.
  • Assigning work, reviewing progress, and promoting staff development.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair projects.
  • Resolving complaints, disputes, and enforcing work standards.
  • Directing maintenance and repair activities.
  • Researching and recommending improved methods and tools.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Four (4) years of supervisory experience in building and grounds maintenance.

License: Possession of a valid driver's license.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Valid Driver's License: Applicants must have a valid State of California driver's license with no restrictions that would hinder performance of the role.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience with computerized work order tracking systems such as Infor/Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
