Lead the sales team by formulating and implementing Sales and Marketing strategies to ensure the most profitable exploitation of world markets for Steel Billets.

Working in partnership with other metals sales managers, set prices and volume strategy for global accounts.

Build long-term technical and business partnerships with the senior management of clients critical to the long-term growth and success of the steel business.

Recommend appropriate sales and competitive strategies customers. Participate in the preparation of both operating and strategic sales and marketing plans. Develop and implement logistics and inventory management strategies to optimize customer service and minimize overall distribution costs. Set credit policies and credit limits for all applicable accounts to minimize bad debt and meet competitor credit offers.

Collect competitive price and product intelligence consistent with all regulatory and internal laws and policies to respond effectively to competitive market actions.

Oversee the development and training of an account specialist and monitor his/her adherence to applicable corporate contract and operational procedures.

Analyze and resolve customer complaints for all customers. Modify customer offerings to retain customers at lowest possible cost increase or revenue reduction compromises. Monitor competitor activity and prices and develop viable product and service offerings.

Serve as a senior representative with key industry associations in the relevant markets and contribute to the discussion of industry standards and proposed government regulations.

$191,485.00 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Engineering, Mining, or related field and 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience in metals and industrial sales.

Must have 5 years of experience in the following:
Understanding of mining-to-market processes in order to optimize value for the business;Leading metals marketing strategy development from design to implementation;Conducting commercial negotiations and managing high value deals, utilising strong knowledge of marketing, trading and economics principles;Metals pricing experience in opaque markets;Analyzing industry trends and emerging technologies in the automotive, foundry and metals sectors;Collaborating with global teams (China, Europe, North America), and experience on successfully implementing commercial strategies in such multicultural teams;Commodity industry safety standards, trade practices, and other applicable regulatory frameworks: Section 232, production standards and quality thresholds in line with the Canadian Steel Association standards, Iron and Steel (I&S)

Effluent Guidelines, and standards promulgated by EPA;Advising team and internal stakeholders on all aspects of the sales process and supply chain, including Contract terms and Conditions, Quality claims terms, pricing terms, Penalty terms, Delivery and Payment terms, rail and truck shipment strategy, Loading patterns and strategy, monitor Credit limits and Accounts receivables, short-term logistics issues and solutions, prioritization strategy and tactical movements;Applying basic metallurgical principles:
grinding, heat treatment, and Alloying.

Must have 1 year of experience in the following:

Basic understanding on automotive and construction supply chain that are key markets for the steel sector, including automotive and construction market trends in the short medium and long-term; technology changes and the impact to product demand; political infrastructure packages and the impact on demand; steel production landscape and the impact on pricing for construction and Automotive; andPaper trading and price risk management.

International and Domestic travel required up to 60%.
