GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Prevention Specialist-FloaterThis position plans, develops, and coordinates alcohol, tobacco, and anti-drug prevention activities under the New Mexico Prevention Grant/Tribal SPF and any other funding sources.

Coordinates Prevention Activities with Cochiti, Zia, Santa Ana, and Sandia Pueblos, targeting the development and enhancement of both Community Prevention Teams and Youth Prevention Programs through the utilization of the Strategic Prevention Framework.

Communicates and collaborates with existing service providers, schools, tribal groups, agencies, and other organizations. Works closely with the contracted Program Evaluator to gather, organize, and present information and data collection.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and an occasional overnight as there may be travel in and out of state.

Must be motivated, take initiative, have a positive attitude, and be physically active.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in education, outdoor education, recreation therapy, psychology, sociology, or related field.

One or two years experience in substance abuse prevention preferred, or four years of professional experience in the substance abuse field in lieu of a degree.
