Youth Behavior Support Specialist
The Behavioral Health Management Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting youth with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. This position focuses on helping clients aged up to 21 years to cultivate, restore, and sustain behaviors that facilitate effective community engagement.
In collaboration with the BMS Coordinator and under Clinical Oversight, the Specialist develops a comprehensive Service Plan tailored to address the specific behavioral issues faced by clients. Utilizing the strategies outlined in this plan, the Specialist imparts essential skills aimed at enhancing positive behavior.
As an integral member of the clinical team, the Specialist employs therapeutic interventions and provides positive reinforcement to foster behavioral improvement. The services are designed to prevent the need for more intensive interventions such as inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment, thereby supporting the client’s ability to remain with their family and in their community.
Additionally, the Specialist offers ongoing support following any hospitalization or out-of-home placements, facilitating a smooth transition back into the least restrictive environment possible.
