Position Overview
The Integrated Prevention Program Specialist plays a crucial role in the implementation of the Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. This position is essential for fostering a healthy organizational culture and is responsible for the coordination of various prevention initiatives aimed at eliminating harassment, violence, and self-harm within the military community.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Program Implementation**: Actively implements and supports integrated prevention programs, ensuring alignment with public health standards and evidence-based practices.
2. **Collaboration**: Works collaboratively with various military and civilian agencies to promote integrated prevention efforts, facilitating communication and resource sharing.
3. **Risk Assessment**: Identifies risk and protective factors influencing behavior, promoting actions to mitigate environmental risks and enhance community resilience.
4. **Data Analysis**: Analyzes population data to inform policy development and program effectiveness, ensuring that strategies are tailored to the unique needs of the community.
5. **Training and Advisory**: Provides professional training and advisory services to military personnel and community organizations regarding ongoing prevention efforts.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, including:
- Experience in analyzing problems and developing effective solutions.
- Knowledge of social science resources and their application in program operations.
- A degree in behavioral or social science, or a related field, with at least 24 semester hours in relevant coursework.
