The Opportunity:


In this role, you will report to the Operations Specialist Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate:
$28./hr.- $30/hr. + mileage reimbursement

What we're looking for

  • A high school diploma or GED is required for this position, but having an Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field would be a plus.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales is preferred.
  • Certifications such as IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG, Forklift, and Hazwoper are also a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and transportation are required.
  • Experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, as well as cross-referencing and inside sales, is preferred.
  • The candidate must be able to travel outside of California up to 25% of the time.

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.


In this role you will:

  • Perform all duties associated with operations of Site Services.
  • Lead and coordinate the team's efforts to perform tasks related to fulfilling customer requirements.
  • Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
  • Interface directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and material.
  • Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager and/or other customer specific applications.
  • Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
  • Provide SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing).
  • Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Manage a budget related to expense reports.
  • Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance and quality goals and objectives
  • Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
