Permit Coordinator Summary:
Supervise, coordinate and manage all permit/plan activity in the division.

Duties include applying for permits with the respective municipalities, compiling supporting documents, updating and maintaining reports, preserving files, communicating with county associates, officials/municipalities, construction department, etc.


Responsibilities:
Obtain documents from Engineers, Architects and various Vendors to facilitate the permit application process

Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and each municipality throughout the entire permitting process

Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/ boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals

Review plans issued out of the division along with all supporting documents for accuracy and confirm that all start packages are complete

Prepare check requests, code invoices and pay fees associated with permitting

Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary

Submit paperwork for permits

Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner

Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from permit approval to final stages (CO) of permitting process

Enter, maintain and update permitting data daily

Print and prepare start packages for Construction Managers

Verify inspections are completed and conditions resolved to obtain Certificate of Occupancies for closing

Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, product approvals, licenses and permits

Communicate regularly with the Construction Department to help troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in the field to ensure closings are met

Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience with single/multi-family and amenity permitting is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate

Minimum 2 years in the Construction industry and/or technical construction project management experience is helpful

Strong organizational skills, time management, consistent attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and take initiative are essential to this role

Must be able to work independently and as a team player, comfortable working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a heavy volume workload

Must be able and/or willing to learn how to read blue prints and plot plans

Excellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) and the ability to work well with interruptions is key

Valid Driver's License with good driving record

Advanced PC skills Microsoft Word and Excel

Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks while meeting simultaneous deadlines

Advanced PC skills, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe experience required

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift, walk, move and/or carry equipment in excess of 30 pounds. Must have finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and calculator.
