Position Summary


Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing, the Senior Digital Content Specialist leads the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-million dollar digital content strategy for Travel Wisconsin's digital channels, including Travel Wisconsin's consumer facing social media channels, digital advertising, email communications and This strategic role demands expertise in audience insights, content creation, data analysis and marketing vendor management.

This position leverages this expertise to curate engaging content across all digital touchpoints, ultimately driving brand awareness, audience engagement and tourism growth for the state of Wisconsin.


The position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a data-driven content strategy that aligns with Travel Wisconsin's overall marketing objectives and oversees the creation and review of content, including marketing agency partner work.

This position works with in-house and external marketing, public relations, social media and website staff to integrate marketing initiatives across various consumer touchpoints.

This hybrid position is headquartered at Travel Wisconsin's office in Madison, WI (3319 West Beltline Highway, Madison, WI and the position has the option of working up to 80% remote upon agreement with the supervisor.

This position works in the Madison office a minimum of three days per month for in-person collaboration meetings with the Marketing Bureau and Wisconsin Department of Tourism teams.

Travel throughout the state is required a few times a year for productions, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism's annual conference, staff retreats, vendor meetings and other business needs that arise.

This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Employees will be required to report to the Madison office on their first day of employment and work in the office a minimum of one day per week for the first three months of employment.

High-speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.

Salary Information

This position (Classification:
Marketing Specialist-Senior) is in schedule-range 07-03 with a starting

hourly rate between $ $37.75 per hour, plus excellent benefits . Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. A 12- month probationary period is required. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have all of the following:

Experience managing social media accounts, fostering brand communities on social media and leveraging influencer marketing.

Experience leading the ideation, coordination and creation of high-quality content across social and digital channels, ensuring alignment with target audience needs.

Experience managing content and content calendars created by internal marketing teams and external vendors.

In addition, well-qualified applicants will have one or more of the following:


Experience leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy for State Tourism Departments, Destination Marketing Organizations or travel brands.

Experience leading cross-functional marketing teams and managing external marketing, public relations, social media and website vendors to integrate marketing initiatives across various consumer touchpoints.

Experience overseeing digital and social media marketing campaign execution and analyzing results to optimize performance and achieve marketing goals.
