Are you enthusiastic about athletics and digital storytelling? The South Dakota Board of Regents is seeking a Sports Multimedia Specialist to enhance our athletic programs' visibility across social media and online platforms.

About the Role

In the capacity of Sports Multimedia Specialist, you will work closely with our Sports Information Director, Digital Marketing Specialist, and other team members to produce engaging content for video displays, game publications, athletics websites, and more.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer within our Marketing and Communications division, you will be instrumental in defining the digital persona of our athletic initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Oversight :
Formulate and manage the strategy and content for the athletics department's social media channels.

Graphic Creation :
Design and coordinate visual elements to promote our athletic teams.

Multimedia Production :
Capture imagery and footage of athletic events and generate regular video content for online and social media outlets.

Content Scheduling :
Develop and maintain a social media content calendar.

Event Coverage :
Deliver thorough pre-, during, and post-event social media coverage.

News Sharing :
Collaborate with the Sports Information Director to disseminate athletics news releases on social platforms.

Website Support :
Assist in the creation and upkeep of department and team websites.

Event Promotion :
Design and implement marketing strategies for fundraising events and activities.

Collaboration with Stakeholders :
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop content for video displays in athletic venues.

Game Publications :
Oversee all aspects of producing athletics' game publications, including design, editing, ordering, printing, and distribution.

What We're Looking For:

Skills :
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing abilities.
Capability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong multitasking and relationship-building capabilities.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge :
Proficient in generating content across diverse formats (print, web, social, video).
Understanding of athletic sports programs.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and Windows-based editing software.
Knowledge of photography and videography tools.
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing applications.
Competence in internet and website management.
Solid understanding of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Awareness of media and journalistic practices and protocols.
Familiarity with printing and distribution methods.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
Prior experience in sports information roles.

Advertised Salary:
CSA Pay Grade GH: Starting at $22.69/hour

Work Hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, with additional weekend and evening hours required to cover athletics events.
