PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide electrical support to the Finishing Department regarding equipment troubleshooting, electrical device installation, new equipment installation, and process improvements.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems for industrial carpet manufacturing process.
  • Installation of electrical conduit and wiring.
  • Design electrical circuits and estimate costs.
  • Wiring of new and relocated machinery.
  • PLC troubleshooting.
  • Motors, motor control, and circuitry troubleshooting and/or installation.
  • Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
NEEDED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Electrical Schooling or training and 3 years of electrical experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to use power tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Must be able to run conduit and pull wire.
  • Must be able to bend, climb, stretch, lift, and kneel.
  • Must be able to read and understand basic wiring schematics and calculate electrical loads.
  • Must be able to size starters, breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime on a regular basis.
  • Must have knowledge of AC and DC drives.
  • Must be able to operate a lift truck, scissor lift, and other motorized equipment.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of PLC's.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be available for cacall-in
  • Must be a self-starter and team player capable of multitasking and prioritizing projects.
  • Must be able to initiate and install suggestions for upgrading electrical components and improving manufacturing processes.
