POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
Execution of responsibilities with a strong emphasis on:
Adherence to safety protocols High-quality workmanship with a focus on customer satisfaction in alignment with 'Exceptional Products & Services' Compliance with established standards and best practices acquired through training and experience Sharing expertise and mentoring skills with Reliability Electricians at levels II-IV, while continuously expanding knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment performance, recognizing their influence on production processes and business goals Providing constructive feedback on job requirements and areas for improvement in collaboration with colleagues and management
POSITION DUTIES & TASKS:
Maintain manufacturing systems and support equipment at peak performance levels, specifically electrical systems, including but not limited to:
Electrical components - MCCs, inverters, motors, etc. Control systems - PLCs, robotics, and other related automation technologiesConduct advanced diagnostics and lead repairs on equipment that may pose safety, quality, or productivity challenges
Distinguish between various causes during troubleshooting related to product, process, mechanical, and electrical factors Communicate findings effectively and lead the design and implementation of corrective actions Review, provide input, and update electrical schematics in a timely mannerDevelop and execute proactive maintenance strategies, including scheduled tasks on assigned equipment, such as:
Preventive Maintenance (PM) - inspection and assessment of equipment components for optimal function based on specifications, diagrams, and documented instructions on established schedules Condition Maintenance (CM) – repair and replacement of components identified during PM & PdM activities, based on comprehensive job plans, including the creation of detailed job plans and ensuring necessary updates to schematics are completedExecute assigned work orders in support of critical projects and process improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives
This includes the design, setup, and programming of complex PLC and other operational equipment used in product manufacturingMentor Reliability Electricians II-IV in developing essential skills, providing oversight and guidance on projects and work assignments related to manufacturing systems
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Safety protocols - LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, Hot Work, PIT, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging Proficiency in computer applications for work order documentation and parts requisitioning Measurement techniques and the application of appropriate tools, including Process Calibrators, oscilloscopes, IR cameras, data loggers, and data archival and analysis Mathematical skills including Basic arithmetic Application of formulas such as current, voltage, etc. Unit conversion Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints, updating electrical documentation as required Identification and proper use of tools, ensuring the right tool is selected for each task Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) Advanced understanding of emergency stop systems Proficient troubleshooting of electrical components including PLCs, AC & DC drives, relay logic, single loop controllers, pneumatics & hydraulics Capability to design advanced PLC systems and programs for process and operational controlCOMPETENCIES
