Senior Reliability Electrician

Position Overview

POSITION PURPOSE:

To ensure the operational integrity and performance of electrical equipment within designated areas, optimizing efficiency while minimizing costs.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

Responsibilities include:

Adhering to safety protocols and delivering high-quality workmanship with a focus on customer satisfaction, supporting the company's commitment to excellence. Sharing expertise and mentoring junior electricians to enhance their skills and knowledge in maintenance practices and equipment performance, recognizing their significance in achieving manufacturing goals. Providing constructive feedback on operational needs and areas for improvement in collaboration with colleagues and management.

POSITION DUTIES & TASKS:

Maintain manufacturing and support equipment at optimal performance levels, specifically focusing on electrical systems, which include:

Electrical components such as motor control centers, inverters, and motors. Control systems including programmable logic controllers, robotics, and other automation technologies.

Conduct advanced troubleshooting and lead repair efforts for equipment that may affect safety, quality, or productivity.

Identify and differentiate root causes during troubleshooting across product, process, mechanical, and electrical factors. Communicate findings effectively and lead the design and implementation of corrective actions. Review, update, and provide feedback on electrical schematics in a timely manner.

Develop and execute proactive maintenance strategies, including scheduled tasks for assigned equipment, which encompass:

Preventive Maintenance (PM) - conducting inspections and measurements of equipment components to ensure proper functionality based on established schedules. Condition Maintenance (CM) - repairing and replacing components identified through PM and predictive maintenance activities, including the creation of detailed job plans and updates to schematics.

Execute work orders related to projects and process improvements that are critical to business objectives.

This includes the design, setup, and programming of complex PLCs and other operational equipment used in manufacturing.

Mentor junior electricians in skill development, providing oversight and management of projects and assignments related to manufacturing systems.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge of safety practices including lockout/tagout, confined space protocols, personal protective equipment, and fall protection. Proficiency in computer applications for work order documentation and parts requisition. Familiarity with measurement techniques and the use of tools such as process calibrators, oscilloscopes, and data loggers. Mathematical skills including arithmetic and application of formulas for electrical calculations. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, updating as necessary. Competence in selecting and utilizing appropriate tools for specific tasks. Understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and advanced knowledge of emergency stop systems. Expertise in troubleshooting electrical components including PLCs, AC and DC drives, and relay logic. Capability to design and program advanced PLC systems for operational control.

Work Shift

8-hour non-rotating shift, following the observed calendar, with shifts commencing in the afternoon.
