CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER - CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION

Seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our team on a high-rise mixed-use development in Columbus Ohio. The Project Engineer will report to a Senior Project Manager as well as collaborate and assist client staff to provide data, and generate reports, as a representative for the client on major construction, seismic, real property, and other special projects.

Responsibilities:

This list is not considered all-inclusive and may be modified for specific projects. The Project Engineer will be used to support CM @ Risk and Design/Build contracts.

TASK 1. Pre-Design/Design Phase

i. Scheduling

ii. Planning

iii. Value Engineering

iv. Market Analysis

v. Constructability and Phasing Review

TASK 2. Construction Period Phase

i. Establishing temporary field offices

ii. Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting

vi. Testing and Inspection Services

vii. Commissioning

viii. Performing additional construction-related services

Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence of work experience or knowledge to compensate for the absence of higher education. A minimum of five (5) years of construction work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability. A detailed project list should be included .
  • Experience: 3 years experience in commercial construction. The Construction Manager shall possess a working knowledge of construction practices and call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management.
  • Knowledge: Must be familiar with the site operations of a General and Subcontractor and the process of managing a building construction operation.
    • working experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance.
    • preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractor's work in relationship with the construction documents.
    • understand the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of the acceptable work in place.
  • Skills: Communication, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products and compile data and records by applying both knowledge of the construction industry and computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with developer-led projects
  • Experience with ground-up or high-rise facilities
  • Experience in hospitality, luxury apartments, luxury clubs, etc.
  • Construction related certifications
  • Ability to navigate AutoCAD/REVIT, Primavera 6, RS Means, and other cost-estimating software.
